近年の環状族
環状族の数は、メンバーの高年齢化や時代背景もあり減少傾向にあります。しかし、「正月パレード」などの無謀運転の事件はまだ発生しています。これに対応するため、大阪警察は正月期間中に環状線の1車線を閉鎖し、検問を実施しています。その結果、多くのチームが解散しましたが、近年になってOBが再集結してチームが再結成されたり、不良予備軍として知られていた若い世代が大人になって環状族と名乗ることもあります。使用車種も元々人気だったシビック系の中古車価格が高騰したため、代わりに安価なFRスポーツカーなどの車両が多く走るようになりました。シビックの数は減ったものの、使用される車種は多様化しています。元環状族の方々でレースチームとして発足させることもあります。

However, there are still incidents of "New Year's parade" style reckless driving. To combat this, Osaka police closes one lane of a highway during the New Year's period and implements inspections. Many teams have disbanded due to repeated inspections, but some teams have re-formed or former delinquent students now identify as kanjozoku. The preferred vehicle has changed from the previously popular Honda Civics to cheaper sports cars and sport-grade vehicles. The number of vehicles has decreased, but the variety of vehicles used has increased. Some former kanjozoku members have also started their own racing teams after "graduating."
